Look!” The sign is to remind every busy person, who wants to cross a street, that you need to stop, listen tentatively, and look around carefully in order to avoid any unnecessary accident.
In fact, as we live in such a busy and hectic society, these three things are also a good reminder to all of us. Someone uses three words to describe our modern living:
Busy
If you ask anyone, “How are you doing?” 90% of them will answer, “Busy.” However, if you ask him what you are busy with, you find not too many people can give you the answer. Most of the time, we are simply repeating what we are doing. Day after day, and year after year. No wonder so many people use “blind busy” to describe their lives.
Anxious
Many people have the same dream. That is to make the most money in the shortest possible amount of time. Previously, people made a fortune after ten years of garage operation at Apple Computer. Nowadays, people think ten years is way too long. They are busy buying lottery tickets, hoping to become a millionaire overnight. We are anxious to start up a business, make money, and even get married, but we do not comprehend the price and the hard labor we have to put in for this success.
Crazy
Today’s society believes in “money is everything”. Many people talk about money all the time. It is stock, real estate, investment, or lottery. Seemingly, the goal of our life boils down to three words: only for money. This type of a flawed value system creates a life without direction, and it brings about broken families and broken relationships.
My dear friend, in such a hectic and stressful society, it may seem important to “run” fast. However, is it more important to ask where we are heading? Whether your life is at the peak or it’s in a pit, now is the time for you to “stop, listen, and look”.
Stop: Meditate upon where you are going in your life. Collect your thoughts about the life that you are having. Is it bringing you peace, joy, and satisfaction?
Listen: Come listen to the Lord Jesus. God gives the world our Savior, and he is calling upon you. Our Lord Jesus said
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry,
and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry,
and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness.”
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Look carefully: Come and behold the abundance that our Lord Jesus has prepared for you. He wants to make your life holy! He wants to make your life joyful! He wants to make your soul satisfied! He wants to make your path peaceful!
Dear friend, have you heard what our Lord Jesus has called upon you? Let us invite you: accept the Lord Jesus to enter your life, and become your own savior. He wants to bring hope and blessings into your life. Just like what the following hymn is saying:
Through moments of your busy life, feeling weary empty loneliness
Your soul hungers and feels in vain, seeking comfort and found none
Listen, this sound of sweetness, how compassion is thy faithful word
Listen, this sound of love is calling, bringing the true good news to you
Through hope that is securely anchored, breaking free the darkness in our soul
Our Lord has entered into my heart, delivering me from the trap of a phantom tomb
Come, this joy of our hope realized, entering into my heart of ever sorrow
Come, this hope of glorious blessings, never will it leave my earnest heart
