I was attending a Christian Conference in Washington D.C. one July 4th and the conference sponsors arranged for us to visit some landmarks of our Capital. When we walked into the Library of Congress, I was surprised to find that the only book displayed in the lobby was the Holy Bible; making a strong statement to the visitors that the Bible, which is the Word of God, signified the foundation on which our nation was established. Sadly, our nation has drifted from the Biblical principles of our founding fathers in the past few decades and this has led to moral decay, shattered families and broken lives. Our nation needs a transformation, she needs to return to her Biblical foundation. As Christians, we are called to pray for the restoration of faith and more hunger for the Word of God for our nation. In this presidential election year, let us intercede that our next president is a man after God's heart, a man who can lead our nation with humility and reverence to the Lord. However, revival and transformation must begin with us; we must strive daily to revere God and love our fellow men as ourselves. As we pray and seek the Lord whole-heartedly, God will hear our prayers and heal our nation.
